Elihu B. Barker died at his house, Newark, on Friday, Oct. 24th, of heart failure. Mr. Baker was born in this town Aug. 30th, 1825, and resided in Newark since 1843. He retired from active business in 1888, having been previously engaged in the wholesale grocery business in New York City. He was a grandson of Daniel Baker, who served through the Revoluntionary War, and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He leaves a wife and one daughter. One sister, Mrs. A.M. Miller, of Central avenue, survives him. His funeral took place at his late residence at 2:30 Monday afternoon. Interment at Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
