Martha Christine Dean Babb age 73, of Oneida and the Black Oak Community passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Physician's Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born in Scott County, Tennessee on March 7, 1939 she was the daughter of the late Edward and Laura Blevins.

Martha was a faithful child of God and dedicated member of the Leatherwood Baptist Church until her illness kept her away. Her family was her earthly treasure, grandchildren her joy. She loved her flowers, reading and talking to her friends. She sends a special thanks to her granddaughter Leona for caring for her.

In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her twin sister, Ivaline; brothers, Ralphard and Kirby; infant daughter, Melissa Babb; son, Richard Babb; father of her children, Earl Babb and his parents, Robert and Stella Babb; brother-in-law, Lonzo Evans and niece, Linda Evans Baines.

Martha is survived by sons, Ralph Babb and wife Mary of Fentress Co., Benny Babb and wife Brenda of Enterprise Alabama and Ronnie Babb and wife Mary of Oneida, TN; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brothers, Earnest Blevins of Fentress Co., Tommy Blevins and wife Susie of Oneida, TN; sisters, Mennie Ruth Evans, Wanda Sue and husband Joe, Shirley Kay and husband Jessie all of Oneida, TN; special friends, Mary Lou Jeffers of Oneida, TN and Cora Goff of Cincinnati, Ohio. She also leaves many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Babb family Tuesday April 10, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday April 11, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Leatherwood Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Blevins and Bro Mark Muse Officiating. Interment will follow in the Katie Blevins Cemetery.
