Rosenberg Herald, May 1, 1942:

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon April 12, at 2:30 for Fred William Otto Dabelgott at the home of his sister, Mrs. W.G. Meyer, and in the Evangelical Church at 3 o'clock at Beasley, Texas. Services were conducted by Rev. William J. Luthe. Taylor Bros. Funeral Home of Bay City was in charge.

Fred Dabelgott was born in (Hutto) Williamson County, Texas, on the 18th day of September 1898, the son of Henry Dabelgott and Anna Prinz Dabelgott. On the 30th of July 1898, he received the Holy Sacrament of Baptism in the Evangelical Church of Richland, Texas; on the 16th day of March 1913, he became a member of this Evangelical Church through the rites of confirmation.

In 1914, Mr. Dabelgott moved with his parents to the Beasley community and was loved by many who knew him. On the 20th day of August 1918, he was united in marriage to Miss Ella Stuessel of Cat Spring, Texas, who had been faithful and devoted to him through joy and sadness. This union was blessed with 6 children: Mrs. Marguerite Penland of Mineral Wells, Texas, Allen, Maurine Norwood, and Gloria Ann of Bay City.

In the year of 1937, Mr. Dabelgott, with his family, moved to Bay City, where he resided until his death. Here also, many grew to know and love him. He departed this earthly life on the 9th day of April 1942, at the age of 43 years, 6 months, and 21 days.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ella Dabelgott and five children; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hy Dabelgott of Beasley; five sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Gertrude Meyer of Beasley, Mrs. Annie Greinert of Austin, Mrs. Hertha Schulz of Haywood, California, Herman Dabelgott of Beasley, Mrs. Louise Richter of Houston, Mrs. Adele Richter of Beasley, and Arthur Dabelgott of Rosenberg. His parting from this early life is also mourned by a host of friends.
