MOORE NORTH WILKESBORO Billie Forester Moore Feb. 14, 1909 - Apr. 7, 2012 Mrs. Billie Forester Moore, age 103, of North Wilkesboro, widow of Henry Lee Moore died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at her home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 10, at 2:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Keith Franklin officiating. Burial will be Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday night. Mrs. Moore was born in Wilkes County, on February 14, 1909, to F. D. and Alva Geneva Adams Forester. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of North Wilkesboro. Billie and her husband, Henry loved traveling and shared a life long love of golf. She was the consummate gracious southern lady. It was impossible to leave her home without being fed homemade pimento cheese, homemade brownies or Riley's hot Fudge Sauce. She loved caring for and nurturing her friends, neighbors and family. Mrs. Moore was a long term member of Oakwoods Country Club & an avid golfer. She was an honoree of the Annual Henry Moore Golf Tournament to benefit Wilkes Community College. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Moore Alexander and six sisters, Rachel Morris, Kate Anderson, Patricia Boyd, Nell Davis, Louise Frazier and Peggy Koontz; three brothers, F. D. Forester, Jr., George Forester and Herbert Forester. Mrs. Moore is survived by one grandson, Heath Alexander and wife, Lisa of Charlotte; great grandson, Heath Alexander and wife, Susan of Winston-Salem; great granddaughter, Kelsey Alexander of Charlotte. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of North Wilkesboro, PO Box 1145, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659 or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 688 North Bridge Street, Elkin, NC 28659. The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Sadie, Hansi, Pat, Mary, Isobell, Deneen, and Trish. We are also very appreciative of the care of her longtime physician, Dr. Joel Swofford and his nurse, Crystal. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in North Wilkesboro will be in charge of arrangements.
