LONG ILLNESS FATAL TO MRS. AL. WALTERS

Della Carr Walters was born August 24, 1880, the daughter of James and Eliza Carr in La Grange Co. Indiana. She passed away at her home June 28th 1953 after a long illness.

She was united in marriage to Albert Walters, March 13th 1897 at was held at Flint, Indiana. To this union was born three children.

Surviving is the husband, Albert, one son, Robert of Clare, two daughters, Mrs. Eva Orvis of Pontiac and Mrs. Audrey Six of Clare. Also left to mourn her passing, a half-sister, Mrs. Lily King of Burlington, Michigan, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews many relatives and a host of friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Walters moved to Michigan more than 50 years ago and made their home in Arthur Township for several years, later moving to Grant township, then eight years later moved to their home on N. Maple.

She accepted the Lord as her Saviour early in life and served Him faithfully bringing love and cheer to those who knew her. She was a kind and loving mother and always willing to offer a helping hand to those in need.

Her body was at Stephenson Funeral Home until Tuesday. Funeral services were held at Clare Methodist church June 30th with Rev. R.T. Burgess officiating. Interment was at Cherry Grove Cemetery. (The Clare Sentinel, p. 1 - Clare, MI - 10 July 1953)

CARD OF THANKS We wish to express our sincere appreciation to our friends and neighbors for the many acts of kindness shown us during the Illness and death of our wife and mother, Della Walters.
