Fr. Gary Schexnayder, Pastor will celebrate the Mass and the committal service at the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Easter Sunday from 11 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Easter Sunday.
Mr. Ward was born May 9, 1933 in Acadia Parish. He retired from Jacks Cookies and was known as "The Cookie Man". He then went to work for LA Wildlife and Fisheries and retired from them as well. He loved Duck Hunting, fishing, crabbing and listening and dancing to Cajun French Music.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Elaine Broussard Breaux; 2 daughters Elizabeth "Chick" Benoit and her husband Ricky and Gwen Leleux; son Ward Ray Breaux, Jr. and his wife Alyssa all of Crowley; 2 stepdaughters Gaynel Harrington Broussard and her husband Dwayne of Youngsville and Sharron Harrington Likes and her husband Bob of Pigeon Forge, TN; 2 grandsons John Ricky Benoit and his wife Margaret and Tonka Leleux; granddaughter Angel Leleux; step-granddaughter Nicole Winch of Pecan Island; 4 step-grandsons Corey Reed, Brent and Vince Stutes all of Kaplan and Marcus Broussard of Youngsville; 13 great grandchildren and 2 sisters Juanita Breaux Meche of Crowley and Wanda Hebert Seaux and her husband Martin of Mire; numerous nieces and nephews and a sister in law Margie L. Breaux of Crowley.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Marie Credeur Breaux; brother Rodney Breaux; half brother Glenn Breaux; grandson Albert Breaux; granddaughter Courtney Carroll and 2 brothers-in-law Earl Meche and Harry Hebert.
