Daughter of John Henry Freeman Broyles and Lucy Ann Rosser.∼Miss Mattie, daughter of Mr. H. F. Broyles, of this place, died after an illness of very short duration, at the home of her brother, Mr. Claude Broyles, in Brunswick, Md., last Thursday, June 24th, of congestion of the lungs, in the 18th year of her age.

She had been a consistent member of the Main Street Baptist church in this place for several years, and was beloved by all who knew her.

Her remains were brought to Luray and on Friday interred in Green Hill cemetery. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Geo. S. Kennard.

We extend to the bereaved family and friends our heartfelt sympathy, and trust they may be comforted by the same Being who works mysteriously, yet wisely.
