George Cotter Mowris, 63, East Chatham, a veteran of WWI, died of self inflicted rifle wounds at his home last Thursday. He had been ill for 3 years, and was scheduled to return Friday to the VA Hospital in Albany. He was discovered by his wife Beatrice. A native of the town of Milan, he was the son of George & Ida Decker Mowris. He had lived in East Chatham about 18 years. Survived by his wife; son Charles W, at home; two sisters, Mrs Leon Ryan, Pine Plains; Mrs Charles Howland, Millerton. Burial was in Pine Plains.
