She is the daughter of Zachariah (1828-???)and Mary (Mills) Overby (1825-1885).
Mariah married William Stephen "Gus" Caudle on June 9, 1899. Since she was 42 years of age it is unknown if she had a prier marriage. 1900 after being widowed she is in the home of her sister Cornelia and husband Thomas Henderson Poindexter, where she remained until her sisters passing in 1932.
In her will she appears to leave her things to nieces and nephews from what I can gather, since she does not state they are her children. All I've found in research, none listed have her named as their mother. they all had the last names of Douglas, Webb, and Mills. She even left 3 dollars each to all of Gus's heirs, except for John who she left 5 dollars to.
