H. H. Antrim's Mother Dies at Polo, Aged 83

Polo, Ill., Feb. 3, (Special) - Mrs. Susan Antrim, wife of Edwin G. Antrim, died on Saturday at her home in this city, after a brief illness. Old age was the cause of her taking off. She had not been troubled with any particular ailment; instead she went gradually into the decline that comes with advancing years and finally passed on to receive the reward earned by a life well spent. Mrs. Antrim had been a resident of Polo since 1866 and was well known throughout the community and the news of her death is a great shock to her many friends. She was a kind and congenial person, who was beloved by all who knew her.

Susan Gehman was born in Lehigh county, Pa., July 13th, 1835. She was united in marriage in Steinburg, Pa., November 17th, 1860, to Edwin G. Antrim. The latter survives and is 84 years of age. The following children also survive; Henry H. Antrim, president of the State bank of Freeport; Mrs. Jennie Albright, Mullen, Neb.; Miss Lydia Antrim, Harvey G. Antrim and Elmer R. Antrim, all of Polo; Edwin G. Antrim, Mullen, Neb. Two children, John Antrim and Charles Antrim, passed away in childhood.

Mrs. Antrim was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for many years. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the Methodist church. Rev. W. H. Pierce officiated and burial was made in Fairmount cemetery, Polo.
