This is from the hand written Obituary for "John Henry Gardner" my Great Grandfather.

John Henry Gardner was born to Betsy Ann and David Gardner on June 18 1847 in Marshalltown Iowa. He was married to Anna Akeson in March 1888, his wife preceding him in death six years ago.
Five children were born to this union, two passing away in infancy. The family moved to Camano Island in 1907 where they have resided since, until the passing of Mrs. Gardner six years ago and Mr. Gardner on Sept. 12 1943.
He leaves to morn his passing two daughters, Ellen Lewis of Fresno Calif., Anne Bodin of Stanwood and a son Henry Gardner of Edna Bay, Alaska. A grandson Gardner (Nels) Bodin in the U.S. Navy. Three grand-daughters survive; Evelyn Barney, Betty Mae Bodin and Jo Anne Bodin. Also one great grand-daughter Cristy Ann Barney. A host of friends and neighbors to morn his passing.
Mr. Gardner was laid to rest beside his wife in the Anderson Cemetery.
