Mrs. Estella Reeves, aged seventy, passed away at her home at 7:35 Tuesday evening, following several days illness. She had been in ill health for years.
Mrs. Reeve was born in Hartwick, September 14th, 1869, daughter of Edwin and Alpheda (Murdock) Pickens. She was thrice married. Her first husband was George Bresee of Hartwick and her second husband, Henry Chaffee of Oneonta. In 1903, she married Charles Reeve of Chicago, who died February 29, 1937.
Mrs. Reeve and he son moved to Hartwick from Chicago about two years ago. She was a member of the Englewood First Methodist church of Chicago.
She is survived by a daughter by her first marriage, Mrs. Fred S. Gregory of New Lisbon; a son by her last marriage, Cecil E. Reeve of Hartwick; a grandson, Kenneth A. Gregory of New Lisbon, and several cousins.
Private funeral services will be held from the home at 2 o'clock, Friday afternoon, with the Rev. R.E. Austin, pastor of the Hartwick Methodist church, officiating.
