NORA PENLAND IS BURIED AT QUINCY
Nora Penland, 89, died at the Clarinda Rest Home at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, after a lingering illness of a long duration. She was born on a farm near Carbon but 50 years of her lifetime has been spent in Clarinda. After the death of her first husband, Thomas Mack, she was married to Isaac Penland, who has also preceded her in death.
Survivors are two sons, W. E. (Bill) Mack of Clarinda and Arthur W. Mack of Nodaway. Three sons, Everett, Frank, and Tom Jr. Mack preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Walker Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Mason Williams in charge. Music will be by Miss Aletha L. Hutchings and Mrs. Doris Forbes. Casket bearers will be Virgil Dukes, Dallas Brown, Don Cakill, Pete Anderson, Owen Thompson, and Marvin Fuller. Burial will be in the Quincy Cemetery in Quincy, Iowa.

Elnora Alice Hardisty was born April 18, 1880 in Carbon, Adams County, Iowa to Solomon Leander Hardisty and Lettia Jane Walton. She married Thomas Mack on December 25, 1897 in Corning, Adams County, Iowa at the residence of Rev. A. Y. Cupp. She married a second time to Isaac Alexander Penland on June 17, 1939 in Clarinda, Page County, Iowa. She died in July of 1969 in Clarinda, Page County, Iowa and is buried in the Oakland Cemetery in Corning, Adams County, Iowa
