Galena, Kan., April 20.-Funeral services for the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Bankson, Twelfth and Kellar streets, who died about 8 o'clock last night at the home, were held this afternoon at the residence, with the Rev. Olin Derfelt officiating. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery.

GALENA, Kan. - James Hosey Bankson, 73 years old, a former city councilman and member of the Galena volunteer fire department, died at 10:15 o'clock last night at his home, 1220 Keller street, following a five-year illness illness. (sic) He had been bedfast since January of 1955.

Born in Galena June 29, 1883, he had resided in Galena all of his life. He served on the city council 16 years and was a member of the Galena volunteer fire department 33 years. He worked in the Picher mining area 33 years and was employed at the Old Rock Distillery from 1942 to 1951. He was a member of the Christian church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Rilla Bankson; two sons, Howard Bankson of the home and James Edward Bankson of Galena; one sister, Mrs. Della Bynum of Galena, and two grandchildren.

Funeral plans are in charge of the Kitch-Poteet funeral home.

Charles Gibson will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Lyle Luton. Burial will be in Hill Crest cemetery under direction of the Kitch-Poteet funeral home.

Pallbearers, all members of the Galena volunteer fire department, will be: Howard Litch, George Hansbraugh, Herman Weston, Chester Kibler, John Schneiders and Don Green.

The body will be taken to the home at 5 o'clock this afternoon to lie in state until the funeral hour.
