"Lawrence "Larry" H. Diehl, 78, of 203 South Spruce Street, Lititz, passed away Thursday at the Milton Hershey Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Violet Louise (Madara) Diehl and had been married for 54 years.

Born in Minersville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Lawrence Diehl and Mary (Berrett) Diehl. Surviving, besides his wife, are three children, Christine L., wife of Curtis Bossert, Lawrence A. Diehl, husband of Verdie (Kassees) and B. Kay, wife of Barry Melchi, all of Lititz. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Keith Diehl, Teresa (Diehl) Goodhart, wife of Mike Goodhart, Christina Diehl, Michelle Bossert and Kevin Bossert, all of Lititz. A brother, David Diehl, also survives him.

He was employed as a pressroom foreman, retiring from Lancaster Press in 1990. Larry was a member of the Christian faith and was a charter member of the Calvary Methodist Church in Harrisburg. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, traveling, antique cars and trains. His family greatly admired his ability to fix and improve almost anything. As a young man he excelled at ice skating and roller skating.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the Philippines and in occupied Japan, and was honorably discharged as a sergeant.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral on Monday at 11 AM from the Spacht Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 S. Broad Street, Lititz, PA. Burial in Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church Cemetery."
