Son of Clark and Harriet (Dearth) Leary. Graduated from Marion High School in 1927. Married Roxana "Roxie" B. Hatton Brownell Thomas on June 18, 1940. They lived in Lowell, Indiana for many years.

Funeral services were Saturday in the Sheet-Love Funeral Home in Lowell for George Leary, 77, who died early Wednesday morning, Oct. 9, 1985, in the Crown Point Hospital.

Leary was a retired Ford Motor Co. mechanic.

He was born March 10, 1908, in Illinois. His wife, Roxie Hatton Leary, preceded him in death in 1975.

A [step]son, Robert Brownell, preceded him in death in 1971.

He is survived by: two [step]daughters, Mrs. Donald (Joann) Meyer, R.R.7, Greensburg and Bonnie Brownell, San Bernadino, Calif.; a [step]daughter-in-law, Cathy Brownell, Lowell; and a step-daughter, Mary Bolinger, Michigan City.
