Ruth Vivian Lowe Cecil, age 90, passed away on April 1, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on February 15, 1922 in Cherry Creek, Idaho to Joel and Rachel Lowe. She married Raymond John Cecil on May 24, 1940 and was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in June of 1954.
Mother had a beautiful voice and was known to burst into a song at any time; she remembered the words of countless songs. She had an amazing memory for family history stories. Was an excellent cook and would share her meals, and treats with family and friends. She loved being a wife, homemaker, mother and department manager of Woolworths for many years.
She is survived by her children; Carolynne (Bernell) Berrett, Ann (Lou) Sarris, Kathleen (Marv) Smith, Steven Cecil, 20 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 33 great, great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Cecil, her parents Joel and Rachel Lowe, her brothers William Lowe, Parker Lowe, Varge Lowe and two sisters Dorothy Jones, and Maurine Pruitt, one great-grandson Andy Cook.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Cottonwood 7th Ward Chapel, 5565 Neighbor Lane, (5565 So 1610 East). A viewing will be held for family and friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, and one hour prior to funeral services at the church. Interment will be Mountain View Memorial Cemetery.
