LEXINGTON – Judith R. Ehney, 65, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012 after a long courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Judy was the daughter of the late Calvin and Margaret Rhoney.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2012 at Kittiwake Baptist Church with burial to follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday April 5, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Judy graduated from Dentsville High School in 1964 and worked for Bell South for thirty-five years until she retired in 1996. Judy co-owned Country Haven Mobile Home Park for twenty-six years. Judy was a member of Kittiwake Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School to first and second graders and loved all her family there. Judy's hobbies included working jigsaw puzzles, traveling and going to Gospel singings.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Tammy A. Thompson (Tim) and Phyllis E. Shelley (Mickey) and her grandchildren, Adam and Brandon Kypriotes, Timothy and Hanna Shelley and Brandon Thompson. She is also survived by her sisters, Jennifer Richardson of Columbia and Laura Martin (Pud) of Destin, Florida and brother, Wade Rhoney of Ladson, South Carolina. She was predeceased by the late Richard Ehney, her husband of forty years.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ann Hutchinson of SCOA and Kay Coughlin of TriCounty Hospice Care for their kindness and compassionate care.
