Harbor Blacksmith George Thompson Rites Monday - Services for former Harbor Springs resident George H. Thompson 85, of Detroit, who died Thursday, will be held at the Holy Childhood Church Monday, December 6 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery at Harbor Springs. Mr. Thompson was blacksmith in Harbor Springs for 39 years before moving to Detroit in 1953 to make his home.
He was born September 9, 1880 and married the late Catherine Cruise of Ireland in 1905. Mr. Thompson is survived by one son, William H. of Detroit; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Conti of New York City, Sister M. Laura of Yuma, Arizona, Frances Thompson of Detroit and three sisters, Mrs. Walter Watson, Rapid City, Mrs. Rose Gilman, Petoskey and Mrs. Fanny Aldhofer of Coldwater.
