OBITUARY FOR - Paul B. Timm, 86

Paul B. Timm, 86, of Woodbine, died Monday, July 2nd, 2007, at the Herington Municipal Hospital. He was born on April 22nd, 1921, rural Chapman, the son of William (Will) H. and Mabel L. (Brehm) Timm.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 AM, July 6th, 2007, at the United Methodist Church, Woodbine, with Rev. Marilyn Cox, officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodbine Cemetery, with military honors. Friends may call at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home - Herington Chapel, Thursday, July 5th, from 2pm to 7pm; and the family will receive friends from 7pm to 8pm Thursday.

Mr. Timm was a brakeman with the Rock Island Railroad. He retired from the Union Pacific in 1982. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Woodbine, Elks Club and Eagles Club of Junction City, American Legion of Abilene, VFW of Dodge City, charter member of the Woodbine Lions Club, Dickinson County Deputy at Woodbine, and had served several terms as mayor of Woodbine. He served in the U.S. Navy form Feb. 1945 - March 1946 at San Diego, California, on shore patrol. He graduated with the class of 1940 at Woodbine High School.

He married Helen E. Diekmann on December 1, 1940, at the St. John Lutheran Church in White City. He is preceded in death by a son: Neal Jay Timm who died at the age of 6 years in 1961, a brother; Donald Timm, step-mother; Emma (Metz) Timm, May 14, 1989, and his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years; Helen Timm of Woodbine, daughter Shiryl Pauley (husband-Byron) of Woodbine, son; Rodney Timm (wife-Trudy) of Topeka, half-brother; Herbert Metz Timm of Topeka, four (4) grandchildren; Robyn Bordewick (husband-Kelly), Paul Pauley (wife-Katy), William Joseph Timm, Donella Timm, and seven (7) great grandchildren; Mikaela, Zachary, Jacob, and Anna Bordewick, Bethany, Brianna, and Bailey Pauley.

Memorials are to be designated and may be payable to the Paul Timm Fund; and may be sent to Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Herington Chapel, 404 S. Broadway, Herington, KS, 67449-3038.
