Barbara J. Hunter, Jan. 27, 1932 - April 1, 2012, Barbara J. Hunter, 80, Roann, went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Wabash Skilled Care Center of Wabash. Born Jan. 27, 1932, in Brook, she was the daughter of Wendell S. and Marjoria F. (Kochenderfer) Duzenbery. She graduated from Talma High School in 1949 as the valedictorian. She married John D. Hunter March 12, 1950. Her whole life was given to be a loving and caring wife and mother to her two daughters and grandma to her three grandchildren. She was a wonderful pianist and player for 40 years as the pianist for her church, Calvary Baptist Church, as well as for other services and special occasions since her high school days. She was known for her giving spirit and her wonderful cookies that she continually baked, shared and kept on hand for her family. She loved her Lord and Savior and portrayed His gentle spirit throughout her life. Survivors include her husband, John Hunter, of 63 years; two daughters, Connie and husband Bernie Drew, of North Manchester, and Brenda and husband Jeff Ramseier, of Silver Lake; three grandchildren, Rachel and husband Alan Davies, of Savannah, Ga., Lt. Benjamin and wife Kristen Ramseier, of Djibouti, Africa, and Zachary and wife Amber Ramseier, of Roann; two brothers, Richard L. Duzenbery, of Akron, and Donald and wife Jan Duzenbery, of Rochester; two sisters-in-law, Beverly and husband Henry Phillabaum, of Kokomo, and Shirley Hunter, of North Manchester; brother-in-law, Loyle and wife Lois Karns, of Kokomo; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church, 1399 Falls Ave., Wabash, with Pastor Matt Haynes officiating. Burial will take place in the Akron Cemetery, Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or the Wabash Miami Home Health and Hospice. Arrangements entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron.
