Age 81, lifetime of New Lenox, passed away April 1 , 2012.
Clarabel is survived by her loving family; daughters Mary (David Sr.) Gurnitz, Sheryl (Wayne Sr.) Holcomb and Connie (late Ted Sr.) DeCraene; siblings Edwin (Kathleen) Gordon, Helen (late Carlos) Slick and Mary Ellen Schwartz and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Clarabel was preceded in death by her husband William Eckels Sr. (2000); three children William Eckels Jr., Betty Jo Eckels and Helen Morgan; her parents Edward and Katherine (nee Hendricks) Gordon and four brothers and two sisters.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL, 60451, Thursday, April 12, 2012 3-8PM. Funeral Service Friday, April 13, 2012 at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the family would be appreciated. Clarabel's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Joliet Area Communty Hospice and staff
