Henry Manuel Lear, 78, well known farmer in this vicinity, died at 10:20 o'clock wednesday nigt at his home, north of Monroe City, where he had resided for the past fifty-seven years.
He was born August 29, 1860, in Marion county, the son of John and Mary Jacobs Lear. He was married December 26, 1880 to Emma Eberle at New Market, Marion county.
Mr. Lear is survived by his wife and four children, J. Charles, Darby, Mont., Mrs. S. G. Hams and Mrs. R. L. Courtney, both of Oakwood and Mrs. G. E. McLeod of Monroe City, and four grandchildren.
The remains were removed to the Wilson funeral home where they will lie in state until the hour of the services at the funeral home, at 2 p.m. tomorrow. The Rev. Beryl Kinser will conduct the rites. Burial will be in St. Jude's Cemetery.
