She was born to William and Sarah Abbott.
Growing up in a large family of nine children at Ohiowa, NE
As a young girl she joined the Baptist Church.
When she was 18, on April 4, 1894, she married Frank L. Demaray, in Alexandria, NE To this union were born 2 daughters and one son. The family came to Lower Fairview Community near Nampa, Idaho in 1917. In 1944 she and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Her life was devoted to helping others. In this great work she reared a nephew, Charles Houston, along with her own children. She attended the Boise Vally Church of the Brethren and worked in the Ladies Aid. She was always a friend of youth and remained young at heart and spirt.
Her efforts were exerted for the extension of the kingdom of God wherever she was.
In July, 1946 she was taken ill. Since September her condition steadily grew worse until she died at her home in Lower Fairview on Dec. 20,1946, at the age of 70yrs, 11months, and 8 days. Unto the end she exhibited a courage and cheer that were a blessing to thoes around her.
Survivors include; her husband, 2 daughters, Mrs. LaVada Edwards of Meridian, ID, and Mildred Demaray of Napa, Cali.; son, Dewey Demaray of Nampa, ID; a nephew, Charles Houston of Seattle, WA; a neice, Ruth Marie (Houston) Jankovsky of Cheyenne, WY; 2 sisters, Mrs. Anna Houston of Nelson, NE, and Mrs. Augusta Virgil of Vici, Okla.; grandaughter, Mrs. Earl Hansen of Meridian; grandson, Dowell Demaray of Nampa; gr-grandson, Randy Hansen of Meridian.
