Obituary of William Henry Sims
William Henry Simswas born near Wheeling, West Virginia, April 30,1880. He departed this life at a hospital in Denver, Colo., November 12,1938 at the age of 58 years, 6 months and 12 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Lena Mitchell in 1817, at Morland, Kansas. To this union was born one child, Mrs Everette Balthazor, of Concordia, Kansas. Mr. Sims first came to Colorado, about thirty-one years ago, residing in Baca County for nine years. He then moved to Kansas. In 1914 he moved to Stratton, where he was engaged in business until a few months before his death.
Mr Sims had been in poor health for some time, but through all his suffering he remained patient and enjoyed a full circle of friends.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his daughter, son-in-law, and grandaughter, also one sister Mrs Amanda Chips of West Alexander, Penn., and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Evangelical Church at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov, 15,1938, with Rev. Gayley officiating. Burial was made in the Stratton Cemetery.
A quartette consisting of Dr. Keen, Lyle Davis, Lucille Hooper and Ruth Krauth, accompanied by Lola Mae Claverley at the piano, rendered several beautiful song selections.
