Sarah Little was born 20 November 1768 in Ireland. She married Thomas Patterson 1 December 1785 following the Revolutionary War where he served as a soldier and was wounded. 19 Feb 1839 she applied for a widow's pension of half pay based on his pension and their marriage. In the 1840 census, Sarah Patterson was listed as a Revolutionary War pensioner in Derry, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania. By June 1843, she was living in Allegheny Twp., Westmoreland County, with her daughter Margaret (Patterson) McCulloch where she remained until her death. On 14 June 1855, Sarah applied for bounty land based on her husband's revolutionary war service and her status as his widow. It is not known if she was granted land. She died 28 January 1862 in Allegheny Township.
