Mr. Joseph Edward 'Jodie' Fender Jr., 83, of Lodge, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at Colleton Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Fender was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Bamberg County and was the son of the late Joseph Edward Fender Sr. and Alice Irene Rentz Fender. He was the widower of Ruth Speaks Fender and a retired carpenter. He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and will always be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing.
Survivors include sisters, Jenny Kinard and Dorothy Beheler and her husband, D.C., all of Lodge; and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Alice Gibson of Ehrhardt.
Family and friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Homes, Ehrhardt-Bamberg Chapel, 2515 Lowcountry Highway, Ehrhardt, 803-267-1971.
