Allie Elizabeth (Stanfill) Williams passed away peacefully at her home in Buena Vista on Sunday Morning, November 7, 2010. She was 95. She was Postmaster at Buena Vista and retired in October of 1992 at the age of 77. She was a longtime Democratic Committee woman; active in her community and enjoyed rural life. She was a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ. Born in Jacks Creek, Tennessee April 22, 1915, the second child of Lon and Avorilla (Trice) Stanfill, she and her husband, J. O. Williams and two small children moved to Buena Vista in 1945. She is survived by sons James E. (Jim) Williams (Karen) and Bill T. Williams, all of Nashville, one grandchild, Wallis Williams of Nashville, step-grandchildren Tad Lenahan (Melodi) of Nashville and Marney Lenahan, Brevard, NC and step great grandchildren Jude Trice, Campbell Grace and Jamison Mabry. She is also survived by sisters Ima Hartley and Faye (Lloyd) Barnett of Jackson. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband J. O. Williams (1984), a brother, Joe Trice (1919) and a sister, Lonnie Earl Hudson (1988). Visitation was held on Monday evening and Tuesday morning at Chase Funeral Home with a family graveside service at McAuley Cemetery in Buena Vista. Brother Dan Winkler, Huntingdon Church of Christ conducted the service. The family suggests that contributions be made to a charity of your choice in her memory. The family acknowledges Mary Dill, Peggy Selph, Tracy Orman, and Becky Wilson for their dedicated care and service in making it possible for her to live at home until the time of her death. She dedicated her life to her family, their happiness, goals and dreams. "
