Margaret was one of 3 children of Leland and Ellen (Kirtley) Butler. She attended school in Lincoln and received her teaching certificate from the University of NE. in Lincoln. Stuart taught school in Walton and Union, NE.
Dec. 22, 1940 she was united in marriage to Jim Stuart in College View, NE. They made their home in Auburn and were blessed with 2 children, Donald Lee and Sally Sue.
She worked at the office of the Auburn Newspapers. She worked there for 30 years until her retirement. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and crocheting and was a member of the Stitchers Club.
She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Auburn.
She passed away at the Nemaha County Hospital. at the age of 93 years, 3 months and 10 days. Her husband Jim, brother Donald and sister Eleanor preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son and his wife, Donald and Donita of Lincoln. Daughter and husband, Sally and Mike Richman of Alma, NE. grandchildren and spouses, Darcy (Shea) Thompson, Jeff (Wanda) Richman, Jenna (Justin) Smallfoot and John (Shelly) Smith. great grandchildren Cory James and Cali Rae Thompson, Alexis Richman, Connor Brown, Andrew Smallfoot, and Josh Hunter, Wyatt, Cody, Jocelyn and Chase Smith, brother in law, John Zeman of Santa Margarita, CA.
Funeral services were held Jan. 14 at the First United Methodist Church in Auburn, NE.
