June Delia Gorst was born on May 27, 1923, in Neenah, WI, the daughter of William and Delia (Jones) Arndt. Her mother died at childbirth so June was raised by her Grandparents, Herman and Amelia Arndt in the Town of Hewett.
When she was 12 years old, her father died. June then moved to Menasha, WI, to live with her aunt and finish high school. She graduated from Menasha High School in 1941 and then began working for Banta Publishing in Menasha.
On October 9, 1943, she was united in marriage to Vincent Gorst at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville, WI. They farmed on Sterling Avenue in the Town of Hewett until 1951 when they moved to Granton and owned and operated Vincent's Standard Station for 11 years. In 1974, they purchased the Ervin Garbisch farm and made it their hobby farm. Vincent died in 1993, and in 2010, June moved to the Marshfield Care Center.
