Rosenberg Herald, June 7, 1935:

Mr. Fritz Schroeder, Sr., age 75 years, a prominent and long-time resident of Needville, died suddenly at his home there early Wednesday morning. Seemingly he had been in perfect health and his sudden demise is deplored by all of his acquaintances. He was well known in the county, having resided in Needville since 1901.

Deceased is survived by his wife; eight sons, Henry and Otto of Beasley, Thos. of Uvalde, Fritz of Damon, Ed, Richard, Reinehart, and Freddie of Bennview; three daughters, Mrs. Matilda Falkenberg of Uvalde, Mrs. Emma Tielke of Ganado, and Mrs. Hilda Gerken of Cottonwood; thirty-three grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Immanuel's Church in Needville Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, with Rev. J.R. Vilt officiating in the presence of a large assemblage of relatives and friends.

Interment was made in Needville Public Cemetery.
