Mrs. June Eileen (Tolbert) Franklin Schlepphorst Blanke, 89, passed away June 4, 2009, in Wilson, Kansas. She was born on June 23, 1919, in Calhoun County, Illinois, the daughter of Alvin A. and Almeda Ann Tolbert. She was a homemaker.
June was survived by her husband, Oran E. "Brownie" Blanke of Holyrood, Kansas; son, James R. Franklin of Rago, Kansas; daughter, Gale A. (Schlepphorst) Clifton and her husband Ken of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren, Jason M. Franklin, Amber N. Franklin, and Brandon J. Franklin all of Liberal, Kansas; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Alvin A. Tolbert (1871-1956) and Almeda Ann (Cox) Tolbert (1878-1951); and husbands, Roy Franklin (1919-1992) and Gerald J. Schlepphorst (1918-1980).
A visitation was held from 1 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2009, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, Kansas.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Parsons Funeral Home in Ellsworth, Kansas. Pastor Thomas Clark Officiated.
June Eileen (Tolbert) Blanke was laid to rest beside her second husband, Gerald J. Schlepphorst, in St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Holyrood, Kansas.
