Son of Joseph and Maria Anna Gramlich Buchmiller.
Came to America in 1853 directly to Highland were on 16 Sept 1854 he married Miss Ludwina Klein.
Following their marriage the couple lived for a time in the neighborhood of Mascoutah, and later took up their home on a farm west of Pierron. He had lived in the Pierron area for more then a half century. He had been living with his daughter-in-law Mrs. Reinhart Buchmiller for the last few years of his life. At his request his remains were taken to St. Louis for cremation.
German's cremains were discovered by g-grandson Dennis Buchmiller in August, 2014 at the crematory storage in St. Louis, MO. His name and date of cremation was stamped into the metal box.
German's cremains were removed from the metal box and placed in a travel urn for the trip to Florida where the cremains were placed in the Atlantic ocean on March 12, 2015 by g-grandson Dennis and g-g-grandson Dane Buchmiller.
