David "Bear" V. Lopez, 54, of Flagstaff passed away on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003. He was born in Flagstaff on Nov. 30, 1949. He attended Flagstaff schools and graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1968.
He served in the U.S. Navy, Vietnam era, after high school. He worked for the city of Flagstaff for nine years and was employed at Northern Arizona University for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing, crafts, movies, telling jokes and being with family, friends and pets.
He was preceded in death by his parents Crescencio and Sarah Lopez. He is survived by his sisters Mary Nunez of Flagstaff; Emily (Martin) Tellez of Tempe, Ariz.; and brother Chito (Ricki) Lopez of Flagstaff.
Holy Rosary will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday Dec. 18 at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, veterans section.
Arrangements are under the direction of Norvel Owens Mortuary.
