Marian Julich, 84, of Carroll died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with the Rev. Siby Punnoose presiding. Lector will be Tom Buman. Gift bearers will be Samantha Wempe, Amy Hoogestraat, Kim Julich and Kelly Julich.

Casket bearers will be Chuck Pille, Richard Schweers, Roger Julich, Mark Julich, Jeremy Hoogestraat and Scott Julich. The Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Breda American Legion Auxiliary will form an honor guard.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery at Maple River.

Visitation started at 2:30 and the CDA led a rosary at 3 this afternoon at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Holy Spirit Parish will hold a Christian wake service at 7 tonight at the funeral home. Visitation will resume at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

A daughter of Bernard and Annabelle (O'Brien) Pille, she was born July 23, 1922, at Carroll, spent her younger years at Maple River community, attended St. Francis School there and graduated from St. Angela Academy in Carroll in 1940.

She and John F. Julich were married Dec. 27, 1945, at St. Francis Church with the Rev. P.M. Mattes officiating.

The Julichs farmed northeast of Breda until 1958 then moved to a farm north of Carroll. They moved into Carroll in 1969.

Mrs. Julich worked at her parents' grain business in Maple River and was employed by the Holy Spirit School hot lunch program for many years. She also helped her daughter with a day-care business.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and Ladies Guild, and the Breda American Legion Auxiliary, and was a 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed cooking and praying.

Survivors include six children: Mary Young of Madison, Ala., Linda Hoogestraat of Carroll, Raymond Julich and wife Nancy of Lakeside, Leo Julich and wife Cassie of Houston, Texas, Helen Wempe and husband Tim of Breda and Joseph Julich of Carroll; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Pille-Lengeling, and her husband, Delmar, of Carroll.

Mrs. Julich was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, in July 1981; a brother, Raymond Pille; and two sisters: Irma Schweers and Arlene Schweers.
