Henrietta Anna Tucker of Rochester, MN, a former long-time resident of Algona, Iowa passed away early on March 29, 2012, her 105th birthday. Henrietta was born in Livermore, Iowa, March 29, 1907, the second of 11 children of Michael J. and Anna (Thilges) Pfeffer. She spent part of her youth on a farm in Livermore before moving with her family to Algona as a teenager.

In her younger years Henrietta worked for families in the area as a caregiver and housekeeper. She also worked as a waitress at the Johnson Café in Algona. During the 1940's she lived in California for seven years where she was employed as a waitress.

In Iowa Henrietta spent the majority of her years as a homemaker and family caregiver. She was often called upon in times of need by siblings and neighbors. Henrietta lived most of her life in rural Algona until moving to a home on East Lucas Street at the age of 75, where she resided until late 2005.

Henrietta was noted for her huge table of Saturday bakings of homemade bread and rolls. She enjoyed embroidery, tending flowers, tatting, shopping and in her later years, bingo and letter writing. Her family and faith were her priorities. She was a member of St. Cecelia Parish and Catholic Daughters of the Americas St. Cecelia Court #283 until she moved to Rochester in 2005.

At the time of her death Henrietta was residing at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living in Rochester, MN, where staff often described her as "amazing" because of her alert mind and level of activity. In spite of being seriously ill the last week of her life, Henrietta died peacefully, shortly after midnight on March 29, 2012, completing her final earthly goal of reaching her birthday.

She is survived by her daughter, Toni and husband Jerry Cunningham of Rochester, MN; two grandchildren, Joshua Cunningham, Lindsay and husband Joe Duda all of Rochester, MN; great-grandchildren, Caden Cunningham, Analeigh and Henry Duda; a sister, Marie Muller of Algona and a sister-in-law, Alice Pfeffer of Titonka as well as and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lawrence, Henry, Michael, John, Walter and Francis Pfeffer; sisters, Ann Green, Elizabeth Ludwig and Agnes Witham.
