Marge is survived by her son David and wife Beverly of Wheaton, IL; four grandchildren, Josh Humphrey (Heather) of Brooklyn, Megan Vajgrt (Andy) of Williamsburg, David Wayne Humphrey II (Courtney)of Tacoma Park, MD, and Kathryn Humphrey (Mike) of West Hartford, CT; four great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Mason Vajgrt, Carolyn Eacobacci and Gabriel Humphrey; and a daughter-in-law Krista Humphrey of Brooklyn.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Truman Humphrey and Eldon Burns, a son Larry Humphrey, a brother August DeLoof, three sisters, Leona Andes, Dorothy Kochuyt and Marian Macksey.
Margaret Darlene DeLoof was born July 26, 1929 in rural Brooklyn, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest DeLoof and Augusta DeVilder DeLoof. She received her education in the Poweshiek County schools. Margaret was united in marriage to Truman Humphrey and two sons were born to this union, Larry and David. Truman died in 1988. She later married Eldon Burns. He passed away in 1999.
Margaret was employed for many years at the local grocery store in Brooklyn, and then in Grinnell. She later was employed at Brooklyn Community Estate in Brooklyn. Marge enjoyed helping others and was very active with the Brooklyn Food Bank in her later years. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, and was known for her tasty pot roasts and pies.
