#SYLVESTER -- Mr. Richard Buckley, 70, of Sumner died Thursday March 29, 2012 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
#Funeral services will be held at 4:30 PM on Sunday April 1, 2012 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Mr. Mark Shirley and Rev. Charles Daniel officiating.
#Mr. Buckley was born on August 9, 1941 to the late Sylvester Elry and Sarah Elizabeth Greene Buckley in Stringer, Mississippi. He has lived in Worth County since 1961. Mr. Buckley served in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a system analyst with the Dougherty County Sherriff's Office and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Stringer, Mississippi. Richard also enjoyed working with his cows.
#Survivors include his wife Annette Brady Buckley of Sumner; daughters, Lisa Buckley of Sumner, Judy Lynn Pierson (MSGT Dan) of Goodyear, AZ, Vickie Castleberry (Chad) of Moultrie; grandchildren, Melissa Thornton (TEC. SGT. Lynzey), Gage Castleberry, Joshua Castleberry, Kimber Pierson; great grandchild Jorja Thornton; brother, William Buckley of Stringer, MS; sister, Mary Elizabeth Hendry of Stringer, MS; sister in-law, Marjorie Buckley of Stringer, MS; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
#In addition to his parents, Mr. Buckley was preceded in death by a brother James Buckley.
#The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
