Ernest J. Hutfles, 76, of Corning, died October 7, 1983 in Onaga, KS. He was born November 2, 1906 in Herndon, KS. He had been a farmer and stockman in Kelly, KS. He was a member of St. Bede's Catholic Church and the Farmers' Union. Survivors include his wife, Augusta Hutfles; two daughters, Mary E. Wheeler of Overland Park and Jane Newman of Houston, TX; three sons, Jerry Hutfles of Knob Noster, MO, Joe Hutfles of Shreveport, LA, and John Hutfles of Saudi Arabia; three sisters, Amelia Vondenkamp of Seneca, and Edith Birbeck and Irene Crockett, both of St. Joseph, MO; a brother, Elmer Hutfles of Corning; and 13 grandchildren. Services were held at St. Bede's Catholic Church. Interment was at the church cemetery by Lauer Funeral Home.
