ALBERT CURTIS STOY.
From Our Herrick Correspondent.
Again the Grim Reaper has visited our neighborhood, this time taking our beloved brother, Albert Curtis Stoy. He was born in Williams Co., Ohio, July 8, 1858, and departed this life April 9, 1911. For several years he has been in ill health and for the past five weeks was confined to his bed. His sufferings at times were almost unbearable, but never was he heard to utter a complaining word, bearing all with patience and trusting in Jesus for grace to sustain him. He was converted at the age of 14 years and joined the Evangelical church in Ohio. Ten years ago he moved to Michigan, settling in Vernon, and soon after joined the M. E. church at Herrick. He was a prosperous farmer, making for himself and his loved ones a beautiful home. He was a loving husband, a kind father, a good citizen and a most obliging neighbor.
In August, 1878, he was married to Miss Almira Burleau and to this union five children were born four of whom survive. They are: Elzie, Willie, Clyde and Mrs. Bessie Dalton all of whom are at home or live near by.
The funeral conducted by his pastor, Rev. Quinton Walker, was held at the church in Clare and was attended by a large assembly of sympathizing friends. He leaves to mourn their loss, beside the wife and children; five brothers, John, George, William, Wesley and Edward also two sisters, Sarah Harmon Bryan and Ellen Divert and a host of friends. Blessed indeed are the dead that die in the Lord.
