Glenda Alvarez passed away Tuesday evening, March 27, 2012, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born in Sulphur Springs on Oct. 3, 1950, the daughter of Sherman Lacefield and Ruby (Wesson) Nowlin.
She married Alejo Alvarez in Sulphur Springs on March 8, 1986. He survives.
Mrs. Alvarez was a homemaker and a member of the Lighthouse Church.
Other survivors include one son, Elvon Nowlin of Tatum; a step-son, Armonda Alvarez and wife, Loria; his mother, Ruby Nowlin, and step-father, Burton Nowlin, both of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Sharron Ball and husband, Harold, of Sulphur Springs, and Carolyn Sanders and husband, Gearld, of Kaufman; one brother, Dewayne Nowlin of Sulphur Springs; one granddaughter, Brittany Nowlin; two great-grandchildren, and an aunt, Lois Dyce of Sulphur Springs.
She was preceded in death by her father; one sister; and two brothers.
