Lida was the fourth child of six children born to Gustavus G. Reiniger and Eliza Ainsworth Meacham Nelson Reiniger (Pickett). She married Charles F. Hardy (d. in Springfield, Greene, Missouri) on 07 Oct 1890. He was the son of Silas B. Hardy and Emily C. Richards. They had four children:
