MRS. VERNA DEAN PUTMAN KNIGHT, 78, of Hope, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2009, at Medical Park Hospital, Hope, Ark. She was born in Hempstead County, Arkansas on March 11, 1930, to Vernon and Mary Butler Cato. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Anderson Baptist Church, Spring Hill, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Knight, who died September 28, 2008 and by her first husband, Dewey Putman; by one son, Buddy Putman; one daughter, Tana Putman; by five brothers, Loy, Dale, J.C., Bill and Tim Cato; and by two sisters, Glenda McBay, and Gail Huckabee. HER SURVIVORS INCLUDE: ONE SON: Danny Putman and Mary, Hope, Ark. One Daughter: Syble Cruse and Mark, Lafayette, LA. Three Step-Sons: David Lee Knight and Cathy, Glenwood, Ark. Jim Knight and Beverly, Greensburg, Kentucky, Billy Knight and Phyllis, Mineral Springs, Ark. Two sisters: Katherine Humphrey, Hope, Ark. Sue McIntosh, Spring Hill, Ark. And Nine Grandchildren and Thirteen Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2009, Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel, Hope, Arkansas, with Rev. William Tyler officiating. Burial to follow in Anderson Cemetery, Spring Hill, Arkansas. Arrangements by BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Ark.
