KERRVILLE — Mrs. Royce Elizabeth Brumley Stone, 86, joined the Lord in Heaven, early in the morning, Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at a local care center.
She was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Detroit, Texas, to parents, Roy Edwin and Jimmie (Roach) Latimer.
Mrs. Stone graduated as valedictorian from Fullbright High School, then studied education at Pan American University, where she earned her degree. She married Aaron Devon Brumley, who preceded her in death. She later married Roger Everett Stone, who also preceded her in death. She was a teacher and ultimately a principal at Donna Primary School in Donna, Texas, principal at Starkey Elementary in Kerrville, Texas, and Elder Elementary in Kilgore, Texas, before her retirement back in Kerrville. She cherished her time helping kids succeed. She was active in the retired education administrators association.
She also had a strong love of gardening and was a long-time member of the Kerrville Gardening Club. One of her passions that she dearly loved and enjoyed was buying, reselling and collecting antiques. She was a tenured member of the First Baptist Church in Kerrville, where she served as Sunday greeter and travel coordinator for the senior adult group.
Mrs. Stone is preceded in death by her spouses, Aaron Brumley and Roger Stone; and one son, William "Bill" Devon Brumley.

A visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 30, at Kerrville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, in the main chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
