Mr Finchum was the only child of Anna May Finchum Rhea (1895-1989).

By the fall of 1936 he is a school teacher.

On the 1940 census dated April 5th he resided in Ewa, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a soldier, single and a private at Base Headquarters - 17th Base Squadron. The highest grade completed was college - 4th year.

Mr Finchum married Flornell 'Tillie' Robertson in Johnstown, Allegheny Co, Pennsylvania on December 15, 1941. His occupation listed as meat packer and hers as housekeeper. They both resided at Allegheny Pennsylvania Children's Hospital.

Madison and Flornell had one son, Michael R Finchum.

Mr Finchum was involved in education from 1940 until 1979 when he retired. He was on staff at the Boys School in Plainfield, Hendricks Co, Indiana and in 1947 was the 6th grade teacher at School #10 Ben Davis Grade School in Wayne Township, Marion Co, Indiana. The last 15 years of his career he was principal of Valley Mills Elementary School in Decatur Township, Marion Co, Indiana.

He was a member o the Decatur Central Lions Club.
