Benjamin Parnell moves to Mocksville about 1854. Son of Benjamin and Cathreen Parnell. He married Susanne (Parnell) Hudson 1825-1891. They are from Wilkes and Johnson County area. The Parnells first comes from Isle of Wright Virginia in the 1700's. Benjamin has sisters;
Catherine "Fanny" (Parnell) Eller
Mary Jane (Parnell) Eller
Sarah (Parnell) Hudson who marries John Hudson in 1841
Anna Mariah (Parnell) Summerlin.
Some of the family moves to the Iowa/Nebraska areas then into Texas. There is also a Boone tie in.Benjamin becomes a 1st Lt in the 57th North Carolina Infantry and becomes Company A Commander Confederate States of America. Ben and Susan have a child:
John T. Parnell 1849-1921 His wife filed for pensions for both CW and Spanish-American war. His Spanish American records are recorded but the suspicion as to the CW records or if he served

After the War Between the States, Benjamin opens a business called Hendricks & Parnell Blacksmiths in Mocksville.
