Robert D. Paget, 69, Waldo, died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Russell Regional Hospital. He was born June 16, 1935, in Hays to Lester A. and Hazel Irene (Strailey) Paget. He was a life-long Waldo area resident. He grew up on the family farm north of Waldo and attended rural country schools. He graduated from Waldo High School in 1954. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving until his discharge in 1958. After his discharge , he moved back to Waldo and farmed with his brother, Raymond Paget, for more than 40 years in the Waldo area. He married Virginia Sue Castor on July 17, 1966, in Natoma. He was a farmer-stockman. He was a retired member of the Waldo Volunteer Fire Dept. and a member of the Waldo City Council. He was a member of the Lucas Masonic Lodge, Lucas; Isis Shrine Temple, Salina; Russell Co. Shrine Club; Order of Eastern Star, Russell; and the Waldo Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Sue, of the home; a son, Bill Paget and wife Shari, Waldo; a daughter, Cathy Paget, Hutchinson; and two grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, and a sister.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday (March 15, 2005) at Waldo United Methodist Church with Pastor Chris Holtorf officiating; burial in Grand Center Cemetery, Waldo. Pohlman-Heise Mortuary, Russell, in charge. Memorials are suggested to the church or Shriner's hospitals.
