Date of birth unclear, memorial stone was smashed and dissolved, only foot stone remains, what was discovered about birth year that appeared on the pieces we tried to put together, looked like 173? or 1744 I am sharing this as someone has been adamant that I am wrong. Numerous searches on William's birth have not been found. I do know per family bible that Abraham was his father. Until I can actually confirm this from an actual birth record, I will not correct. Due to the fact that stone read he was 80 years old at the time of death I changed date of birth year to 1744.

Husband to Willempje Nevius DeGroff, my 5th gr grandparents. Willempje also is buried here, grave not yet found. She was living at the time of William's death and lived with her son Martin. She was with him in 1830 so one can assume she died shortly after 1830.
It took me a few years just to find William's place of rest and a portion of his stone, he is buried alongside his sons and their families.
The history that Willempje died sometime near 1797 in New Jersey is not correct as she was alive and well here in Owasco NY at the time of Willliam's death.
