Doris E. Beis, 89, Sycamore, died at 9:50 p.m. Feb. 25, 2003 at St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs.

She was born Feb. 12, 1914 in Adrian to Wallace and Lucille (Haines) Ruehle. She married Charles L. Beis on July 30, 1936, and he died May 25, 1995.

Surviving are a son, Robert Beis, Sycamore; four daughters, Mrs. William (Della) Chong, Columbus; Donna Zeiter, Fort Myers, Fla.; Mrs. Verle (Helen) Spitler, rural Tiffin; and Mrs. James (Betty) Rhoden, Upper Sandusky; a sister, Mrs. Gordon (Florence) Wyatt, Carey; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Ruehle; a sister, Bernice Williams; and a great-grandchild.

Mrs. Beis was a homemaker and helped her husband farm.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, McCutchenville; OES chapter 196, McCutchenville, serving as past chapter matron and past district deputy; Literary Club, Sycamore; and PRS Club. Carey. She was a former member of Sycamore Little Theatre Club.

She graduated from Carey High School.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, the Rev. Roy Howell officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7:45 p.m.

Memorials can be made to the church, Wyandot County Heart Support Group or Mohawk Community Library.
