Hannah Platts was born January 13, 1741 in Lunenburg, MA, the daughter of Abel and Mary (Varnum) Platts, early settlers in Rindge, NH. She came as a child with her parents to Rindge around 1751. She married in Hollis, NH, June 16, 1759, Ezekiel Jewett, the son of Ezekiel and Martha (Thurston) Jewett of Boxford, MA. Ezekiel was in Rindge previous to 1753 and raised a house and planted an orchard on the property now known in Rindge as the "Ware Farm" Ezekiel and Hannah resided in Rindge and prospered, acquiring a considerable estate. Ezekiel and Hannah had eleven children. Ezekiel died February 7, 1786. Hannah survived Ezekiel more than forty years. She died at the homestead, September 13, 1830, aged 90 years.
